Sasi Sanctuary Animal Rescue was founded in July 2021 when owner Sarah adopted a Spanish Street cat from the Spanish Charity, Asociacion de Animales de Berja, whom she still works very closely with. After seeing the poor conditions and suffering of the animals in Spain and throughout Europe she decided to open up her home to them temporarily until a forever home can be found for them here in the UK.
She not only helps animals from abroad, she has taken in and rehabilitated a number of animals from the UK too, successfully rehoming them. She has helped over 150 dogs and cats so far (and a couple of tortoises too!) but she would like to help many many more.
Sarah is a single parent, she runs and funds the rescue entirely on her own as well as working and looking after her young family so any support that can be offered is always very gratefully received.
The Sanctuary also offer social visits in which members of the public are able to come and sit with the animals in her care, this is beneficial to both the animals and the humans.
From May 2024 she will be able to offer work experience placements for young adults aged 13+ too.
